How do I know what’s wrong with my garage door spring?

How do I know if my garage door spring needs repaired or replaced?

Even if just one spring is broken, the garage door should not be opened or closed using the automatic operator. All though some openers can lift the door, you risk damage to the operator and the door. Also, if any other parts break while the door is in motion it will send the door plunging to the ground.

Restore your door.

Overhead Door Company of Greensboro™ is standing by ready to help you navigate the sometimes-confusing garage door spring repair process. Schedule your free in-home estimate today with the most trustworthy garage door repair company in Greensboro!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My work was done by Edward Thompson, who was knowledgeable, patient and kind. If there is a nicer, more likeable man in the world, I've never met him. I would call back and ask for him every time. Five stars aren't enough for the service I received. Having dealt with the other garage door company, I can say there is NO comparison. I wholeheartedly recommend Overhead Door to everyone...

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called Overhead Door Company of Greensboro early in the morning after realizing my garage would not open. The dispatcher was very polite and concerned about my situation. There was a team at my house around lunch time that day. The two guys assessed the problem and had the repairs made in a very short period of time. When they finished the repair I noticed one of the guys hitting all of the door rollers and hinges with oil which I thought was a nice touch that would often go unnoticed. The repair ticket was presented and explained to me and then they were on their way. I would definitely recommend this company for any garage door work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The service tech was very nice. He did fix the main problem that was there ever since it was installed, which was the push button pad inside the garage to open and close. The door only worked sometimes and eventually very rarely ever since it was installed. He unscrewed from the wall, push the door button up and down several times reinstall it and said it was just installed too tight. That’s why it never worked right from the beginning so very simple and that was great. While he was inspecting the door, he stated the door felt very heavy and readjusted it so that the motor would not have to work so hard, which was great since I didn’t know that and I didn’t have to ask for any additional service. I did ask about the door doing a lot of groaning and clunking which it didn’t do when it was initially installed. He did lubricate the door hinges while he was here, but it didn’t make any difference in the groaning and clunking of the door. So I’m assuming the groaning and clunking noises are just part of the door.
